Brooklyn Gangbanger Pulls Gun On NYPD For Being Laughed At By Friends

The Brooklyn gangbanger shot by cops Thursday pulled a gun after some fellow street tough guys laughed at him, cops said Friday.

Shaquille Reid, 20, had just stepped out of a pool hall at Lavonia Ave. and Legion St. in Brownsville when he spotted three men staring him down from across the street about 6 p.m. Thursday, police said.

Two plainclothes cops in an unmarked car spotted Reid — a known member of local street gang Addicted to Cash — extending his arm with a gun in his hand, NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said.

During a brief chase, Reid fired a shot, police said. The officers returned fire, hitting Reid once in the right hand, police said.

Cops found Reid’s Colt .45-caliber pistol — a Gold Cup series semi-automatic with a retail value of about $1,400 — at the scene, police said. Reid was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.
