Texas – More than $230,000 in cash was seized during a traffic stop on Highway 59 two weeks ago, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday.

According to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, a narcotics task force composed of local and federal agencies seized the money on March 19.

The sheriff’s office said a deputy stopped a big rig for a traffic violation near FM 2218 in Rosenberg. During the stop he and his K-9 partner located the money hidden in hollowed out car batteries mounted in a tractor that was being transported.

The sheriff’s office said Marcos Camacho, 48, of Humble was arrested and booked into the county jail on first degree felony charges of money laundering. Camacho is now out on a $15,000 bond.
