Memphis Rapper “Mr. Money” Charged With Sex Trafficking

The accused sex trafficker “Mr. Money” will soon have to spend some of his hard-earned cash on attorneys. The Mid-South man is accused of recruiting teenage girls to the sex industry.

The so-called “Mr. Money” helped the feds in their investigation when he bragged about illegal activities on social media sites like Youtube. Investigators say Osbie Antonio Sea teamed up with his girlfriend in the sex trafficking, but they also believe she too was forced into the sex trade by him.

“He’s a local rapper like anybody else,” friend Joseph Darby said. “I don’t know. I don’t know this I don’t believe it.”

Barber Joseph Darby can’t believe the man whose hair he cuts two or three times a week is charged with child sex trafficking by the feds.

Osbie Antonio Sea who calls himself “Mr. Money” and “Hard Money” even did a commercial for Darby at the Barbershop where he works.

Investigators say Sea used several methods like Facebook and Youtube to recruit victims. He also promoted his rap career on the internet.

Investigators say he met one of his victims, a 14-year-old girl, at a K-Mart in Raleigh. He told her to call him if she wanted to make some money.

“I don’t believe he be messing with no underage girls,” Darby said.

The feds say a 14-year-old ended up at the Extended Stay America at Kirby Parkway and Poplar with Sea.

The girl told investigators Sea knew she was underage and told her to tell everyone she was 18 because he knew he could get in trouble. The teen also said she had sex with two men and Sea kept all of the money.

Investigators say Sea also took provocative photos of the teen and posted them on looking for customers.

Last week investigators say Sea got into a physical fight with his girlfriend and later tried to choke his 4-month-old child.

Osbie Antonio Sea is behind bars. If convicted he faces a minimum of 15 years in prison and could receive up to life.

UPDATE: Osbie Antonio Sea,”Mr. Money” family is speaking out on his behalf, saying he never pimped teen girls for sex. This comes after 30-year-old Osbie Antonio Sea was indicted for child sex trafficking. Investigators say he solicited girls online and passed out flyers outside a Raleigh Kmart.

“I never saw underage girls in my life,” said Sea’s aunt, Bridget Becton. “I talked to him yesterday (Thursday) and he said he didn’t do it. Someone framed him.”

Becton says her nephew is just trying to make it in the rap business.

“That’s his music. He does music. ‘Pimpin’, pimpin’, pimpin’’ is just a slang he was using in his music,” said Becton.

Sea was also known has “Hard Money” or “Mr. Money” and posted YouTube videos showing off stacks of cash and asking for women to call him. His family says he was looking for women to help him make music videos.

When I asked his cousin “Jay” about the child sex trafficking charges, he said, “That ain’t him. I be with him everyday. He does his rap, he grinds. They (police) use his pimpin’ pimpin’ pimpin, they going to use that against him. They’re going to take his videos and put it all together make him look like that but he ain’t that.”

But according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, “Mr. Money” solicited women outside a Raleigh Kmart and gave a flyer to a 14-year-old girl. Investigators say he knew she was underage but still took erotic photos of her and posted them online. They say she then had sex with two men and Sea took the cash she made. He also has a long criminal history, including theft, drugs and aggravated assault – even being accused of choking his 4-month-old baby.

“He loves his baby. He never choked his baby and he loves his baby dearly,” said Sea’s aunt. When I asked about his criminal history she said, “Those were his younger days; that’s the way he was but when you get older you get wiser.”

Apparently not wise enough, because now he’s facing some serious federal crimes.

Sea is scheduled to appear in federal court on Monday. If convicted, he could face a minimum of 15 years to life in prison.
