Nicki Minaj’s The Pinkprint No. 1 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Album Charts
Hip Hop artist Nicki Minaj’s new album The Pinkprint earns her a third No. 1 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Album Billboard charts, and tops the list moving 244,000 units in its first week, according to Nielsen Music. The Pinkprint’s first single “Anaconda,” had a six-week run at No. 1, and follows up with the recent single “Only,” featuring Drake, Lil Wayne & Chris Brown, topping the list dated Dec. 27. The album’s 20 track release is a return of Nicki Minaj’s early hardcore rap style. The Pinkprint’s delivers intriguing bold punch lines with a personal feel. A star-studded set, is also featured on the album with appearances from Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, and Drake. On December 6, 2014, Minaj appeared as a musical guest on an episode of NBC’s Saturday Night Live alongside host James Franco. She performed three songs from the album: “Bed of Lies”, “Only” and “All Things Go”. She also participated in a few sketches. Nicki Minaj’s last album, 2012’s Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and sold 253,000 in its opening week.
