French Montana Fan Gunned Down Outside Tour Bus
A French Montana concert in Philadelphia ended in a tragic coda Thursday night, when a fan was gunned down outside the rapper’s tour bus.
Police said the unidentified 27-year-old fan was in a crowd of fans that gathered around the bus to greet the New York-based rapper as it pulled into a Holiday Inn Express after the show when the gunfire broke out, Philly.com reported.
The mortally wounded fan, who was hit in the stomach, was rushed to a local hospital were he was pronounced dead at 1:30 a.m.
Witnesses say the shots came from a car that pulled up and opened fire, also striking another 29-year-old man in the shoulder, according to the Philly.com report.
Police said it did not appear that French Montana was the intended target, and they are investigating a possible beef between fans.
Three people in the crowd who had loaded semi-automatic handguns with them were taken into custody, police told Philadelphia’s WPVI Action News, but it’s not clear if they were involved in the homicide.
The 28-year-old rapper, whose real name is Karim Kharbouch, is believed to have been on the tour bus at the time.
His only public comment on the tragedy was a tweeted Instagram picture of a man being questioned by police in the hotel lobby, with the caption, “nobody got time for this sh–.”
