Actor Jeffrey Wright Charged With Drunk Driving
Jeffrey Wright, who has appeared in films such as ‘Presumed Innocent’ and ‘Casino Royale,’ was busted on drunk driving charges in the lower East Side early Saturday morning.
Actor Jeffrey Wright was busted for drunken driving after he was pulled over on a lower East Side street early Saturday, law enforcement sources said.
Wright, 47, was stopped at Hester and Chrystie Sts. after cops spotted him driving erratically about 3 a.m., the sources said.
“He was speeding and nearly caused an accident,” a source said.
When cops caught a whiff of alcohol on his breath, they asked him to step out of his Toyota Tacoma, sources said.
The longtime actor — known for his roles in films such as “Presumed Innocent” and “Casino Royale” and slated to appear in the upcoming flick “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” — failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody.
Wright was being held at the 7th Precinct stationhouse as charges were still pending Saturday afternoon.
