Gunplay Surrenders to Police on Armed Robbery Charge
Rick Ross protégé and Music Group rapper Gunplay, recently surrendered to the Miami-Dade Police Department. After, a warrant was issued on him for armed robbery with a firearm.
The arrest warrant was issue to the 33-year-old rapper, whose real name is Richard Morales, and co-defendant Randy Jones robbed a man at a Miami tax business on Friday, April 13.
The warrant was filed May 18, and stated that both s that Richard Morales and Randy Jones were partners in crime, and they stole a gold chain and cell phone, with Gunplay striking the victim several times in the head, and later threatening the man with his handgun, causing him to run for his life.
Mike Greico, Gunplay’s attorney remains confident that his client will have a favorable resolution. “My gut tells me he’s going to be exonerated on this. It’s going to take some time though. But for now he’ll be in the jail, he’ll be in the court tomorrow, he looks forward to clearing his name. He wants to get out there and get back in the game.”
On September 29, the Miami rapper got into a brawl with 50 Cent’s G-Unit crew at the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards, and now, If convicted he could face life in prison.
